Splatty Airways

The time had finally come... Splatty was actually going to embark on her first journey as the 1st class airline- SPLATTY AIRWAYS.
Myself and Podge had been preparing this launch for almost a week. The preperation included:

  • downloading appropriate music on ipod
  • writing the cabin crew speech
  • Making the onflight meals
  • preparing security checks
  • Preparing a suitable intinary
When the time had finally come, I got Splatty in airline mode and flew her to Bunclody to collect Podge and Orla. After loading up the car and loading Podge up with coffee we embarked to our next destination, Kilkenny Castle. this was the location that we had arranged to meet Chelle. After frolicking around Kilkenny Castle (using their power supply to charge up my phone) and getting some more coffee in a little bistro we decided it was time to burn some rubber. We all went back to Kilkenny Castle, which was where Splatty was parked. Myself and Podge brought out the crate that we had previously removed from the eurospar premises the day before, and started doing our security checks. These security checks consisted of:
  • Frisking each individual person
  • Making them put their luggage- oversized luggage had to pay a fee
When we were certain that none of our passengers were carrying any dangerous weapons we loaded up the aircraft. The cabin crew member did his lovely little speech for flight SA "EIEIO"- Please see video above :D

We were soon on our way for a weekend in the West of Ireland, but first luch at Bunratty Castle... Trust me it was not as exciting as it sounds... Apparently you have to pay to get into Bunratty so we eat our lunch in the carpark, and then visited the souvenier shop to check out the bumper stickers and sticky rocks... Needless to say we didn't buy a thing between the four of us.

When we arrived in Lahinch we all checked into the lovely hostel that is, Lahinch hostel. Well when we got there I wont lie to ya guys, the sheets were quite grosse and I was knocked out with the pong of alcohol that came from our room... BUT they were mortified when they realised the room wasn't made and rectified the problem immediately.
Once we had settled our airlegs we headed to the legendary pub that is Danny Macs to see my girlfriend, Maddy :D
The rest of the night was a bit of a blur, but the videos and pics can explain why that is :)
a few boozy ones in the pub
a night time walk on the beach

sleep was crucial

Right if you think you like what you see so far, it get worst. After those few boozy ones but before the lovely walk on the beach, and before the sleep came the worst thing possible. Drunk people in possession of sparklers... Way too much excitement for a drunken college student on holiday.

Ooooh the messy times of the west. Obviously all this boozing can only have horrible consequences. Some people may find the following image deeply disturbing.. you have been warned....

Ok so looks like I got a bit excited about the social aspect and forgot about the airline...
Well bright and early the next morning, we got some delightful breakfast and then headed on board Splatty Airways to the following destinations
Lahinch Beach
Lahinch

  • Lahinch Beach
  • Cliffs of Moher
  • Corkscrew road - the road of doom
  • and The Aliwee caves bird sanctuary
Bird Sanctuary
A delightful and insightful tour of the beautifullness of county Clare. here a few snippets :D

Road of DOOM

So that was pretty much the end of our little holiday with thanks to Splatty Airways.
So while Podge got the Ipod and speakers going we were all set to make our return journey to the Sunny South East...
Thanks Splatty xxxxx
